Round 3 British Drifter Championships

Round 2 was at Three sisters Raceway in Wigan. We booked a practice day for the Friday knowing we had some teething problems with the car which is a new build for round 1 in Scotland we it was best to use that day to make sure we work out those problems.

So the Friday practice day went well, the new layout was good, the car was good with no major problems.

After a good night’s sleep we prepared the car for competition, morning practice was good I got the line down to a tee and was ready for qualifying at 12pm.

We have 2 qualifying runs and the best of the 2 in the place you qualify in. The aim is to qualify in the top 32 to get to the battles, with 60+ drivers you have to be on form.

So the first run was looking to top qualifying but just before the last clip I missed a gear and went from a 100 point run down to a 75 point run still I was sitting in 18 place after all the first runs.

The second run also was looking like a great run but a little wheel drop off track got me a 87 point run.

I finished 8th place after qualifying.

Now for the battles.

In my top 32 battle I was place against Ryan Toporowski in his Nissan S15. My lead run was fast and online, his lead line was off and my proximity was much closer giving me the win.

On to the top 16 battles and I was placed against Egis Minelga in his Nissan 300zx. In my lead run I have a great line and Egis having no proximity, his lead line was off but I was awarded the win for close proximity and aggressive drive.

Finally my top 8 battle I place with Max cotton in his Nissan PS13. My lead run was good giving Max opportunities to get close but I dropped wheels off track. His lead run was good too and also giving me opportunities to get on his door with some aggressive driving but it was not enough to overturn the wheel drop.

Over all I finish in 5th at Round 2 British Drift Championship.
