HUGE CRASH! Williamson – Snetterton – EnduroKa

Ian was back out in Wolf Motorsport’s Ford Ka (Pink Pig) to compete in the EnduroKa 9 hour race at Snetterton. Qualifying went well for the team with Ian setting what was the pole lap, until the very last lap of qualifying. Starting the race in second was a fantastic start to the weekend, against a large grid with many experienced and fast drivers.

One of Ian’s team mates started the race and was running well, exchanging places within the top three. Due to this ultra-close racing they were involved in an incident with another driver, causing the Pink Pig to encounter a significant and devastating roll with the first 12 minutes of the race. Unfortunately this brought an abrupt conclusion to the race for the Wolf Motorsport team. The driver was taken to a nearby hospital, suffering concussion and a broken shoulder blade.

The thoughts of the team were fully focused on the driver from that point, to which thankfully the driver is on the mend and feeling much better. Huge thanks must go to the marshals and medical team, in particularly for their quick thinking and care given in this incident.

The process of building a new ‘Pink Pig’ is already in progress, ready for the team to come back even stronger in the next race at Oulton Park.
